The dynamic mother and daughter duo, Mistress Michelle and her daughter Princess Amanda.
Amanda, known professionally as Princess Amanda, is a 23 year old married mother with two young children who lives in Florida, USA. She is also a Financial Domme and the daughter of the very well known Mistress Michelle, who was interviewed for my book. She is not a life-styler and as such lives the life of an ordinary wife and mother when not working at her financial domination business.
The short definition of Financial Domination is that it refers to the practice of willing, submissive men paying money or giving tributes to a Dominant woman without expecting anything in return. This practice is generally always done only online and the Mistress generally humiliates the slave verbally/in writing in return for tributing her. *tom is an Australian man in his forties, divorced with grown children. He is happily submissive and serves as a slave (7 years and counting) to Mistress Mynx, a BDSM lifestyler for many years and also a ProDomme. As protocol dictates, I made the request for this interview to his Mistress and she graciously granted me permission.
*It is protocol that lowercase is used for submissives and uppercase for Dominants.
Q: Firstly tell us a little about how you would define the concept of being submissive in the sense of a relationship?
A: I think it is important to understand that I am not a submissive outside of the relationship. I have to work, get things done in my life etc., in a sometimes pushy and hostile world. But I choose to be submissive to Mistress, who is the epitome of the Dominant Femme I was looking for. I am submissive to Her, no one else, and I chose to submit to Her. What it means to be submissive in the relationship is that I do things for Mistress, when She wants, how She wants and at all times, ill-health aside. I am there to serve her – her needs and wants to the best of my ability. And I am always looking for ways to improve. Her training of me is ongoing. Sometimes I even need to be intuitive as to them. The aim is one of making Mistress’s life easier, She works very hard and my goal whether I am physically in Her presence or not is to contribute positively to Her world. On Being a Gender Maverick: an Exploration of Male Cross Dressing

Late last year I did a profile piece on Sumedha, a young, Indian male who describes himself as a crossdresser; and this interview was the impetus for examining current conversations and perceptions on gender diversity and its enactment. Sumedha’s interview is presented at the end of in this article to give outsiders an idea of what it is like to be a crossdressing male in conservative India, although I believe it is a scenario that could be played out in any conservative village, town or suburb anywhere in the world.
Put simply, cross dressing is wearing the garments of another gender, e.g. a man wearing what society deems is women’s clothing or a woman wearing what is deemed to be men’s clothing. For women in most modern cultures this distinction is somewhat blurred—given we are free to wear trousers, shirts and various items which men wear on a day-to-day basis without being labelled a crossdresser. However the reverse is not true, and heterosexual or homosexual men do not have the freedom to explore or express themselves outside the social confines of their gender. Q: You are generous with the free photos you post online via mechanisms such as Facebook, but you also sell foot related clips of yourself. Has this blossomed into a career for you now, or do you still have a so-called ‘day job’?
A: I’m actually a licensed Funeral Director, and have been working in the funeral industry for about 14 years. I have cut back on my day job now, as I’ve become very busy with my online lifestyle! I do love both jobs, although I really don’t consider my ‘foot fetish’ a job, it’s just a part of who I am that I enjoy sharing.

Mistress Mynx and I had a wonderful time in our presentation today for the Victorian Federation of Counsellors. Everybody who attended were overwhelmingly interested and genuine in wanting to learn more about the world of alternative sexual practices, in particular the dynamics of domination and submission. I would like to thank the secretary and speaker’s convenor Michael Woolsey and the president Barb Matheson for having the courage and open-mindedness to invite us to speak on what can be a sensitive subject.
The counsellors totally surprised Ms. Mynx by singing happy birthday to her and we were both delighted to receive a certificate of appreciation.

Dee, or DC as he is known in the book, was one of the first people kind enough to take a chance on communicating with me personally when I began researching. I started investigating Casting as my first topic and came to know Dee through an open invitation I placed on the Castingfetish.com forum. While Dee and laugh about it now, he initially had his reservations that I was simply a man masquerading as a female researcher. Fast forward 4 years and our friendship remains.

I will run over what a Mistress is/is not and explain some of the terms and then I will interview Mistress Mynx with some key questions that I hope will shed some light on the realities of the dominant/submissive dynamic for the counsellors.

I met US based Al Soleman approximately 18 months ago via Facebook, when he wrote me a lovely book review and we have remained friends since.
